Streszczenie Resocializing prisoners is a process that affects the level of achieved social functions after finishing a prison term. It is essential to reduce recidivism rates and significantly reduce the threat to society posed by former prisoners. In the process of supporting inmates related to their return to society, multidimensional activities in the area of so-called creative resocialization are essential in Poland after 1989. These are based, among others, on a process stimulating the transformation of the con-sciousness of a person undergoing social rehabilitation to awaken the potential of socially maladjusted people. Prisoners undergoing social rehabilitation activities have a greater chance of leading a life consistent with the law and social norms. The article aims to attempt to indicate the processes taking place in the area of social security in Poland in the context of methods of the creative social rehabilitation of people in prison.
