Abstract The article focuses on issues related to the transformation of the child's private space as perceived by parents, including an analysis of the parents' definition of the concept of the child's space at preschool age, the extent and freedom of the child's co-creation of the space they inhabit and the spaces arranged by the parents, in the context of answering the question: what do these spaces invite to? The results of our own research suggest that as the family's financial situation improves, the perception of the needs of the preschool child generally changes as well. The effect of this transformation can be seen in the beautiful arrangements of the children's rooms, to which parents give practical value above all. Furthermore, not every parent allows their child to decide what their room should look like. In addition, even in the rooms of children who are included by their parents in the decision-making process, it is in vain to find manifestations of children's creativity, such as creations of their own work. These are interiors that are unlikely to invite activity, the pursuit of passions. In many cases, this is be-cause no space has been provided for it.
