Abstract This text addresses the issue of the quality of life of Polish retirees from the babyboomers generation, putting the question whether, and if YES, to what extent and extent it differs from the level of life of their peers living in individual countries of the European Union. Special attention is paid to the various forms of participation of seniors both in social life and in the digital world. The theoretical basis of the undertaken analyzes is interdisciplinary and refers to the concept of quality of life in the context of aging processes. The data included in the analysis comes from official statistical sources obtained from databases of government agencies. A comparison of selected indicators illustrating the quality of life of the elderly in Poland and beyond its western border proves the existence of large inequalities to the detriment of Poles. However, the assessment of objective parameters does not always correspond to the most important estimate, which is the subjective sense of the quality of life held by a given person. However, these issues were not the subject of any research available to the authors of this text
