Abstract As the latest research shows, the level of financial awareness among all demographic groups remains low and decreases with the age of the respondent. The aim of the article is to try to answer the question what is the level of financial awareness in the elderly population in Poland. The article is a review. The goal was achieved on the basis of an analysis of the literature on the subject and the latest reports of the Central Statistical Office, Eurostat and the Credit Information Bureau. The review of the literature allowed to conclude that the level of financial awareness of Polish seniors is generally low, however, it has not yet been covered by extensive empirical research that would cover all components of financial awareness, such as knowledge, behavior and attitudes.
