Abstract Neoliberal globalisation is characterised by the marketisation of sectors previously audited by the state, the incorporation of individual countries and even regions within the framework of the capitalist world market and the subordination of the various spheres of human activity to automated impersonal market forces. It is determined in large part by the very active international finance and the greed of Western societies living on credit, who see the world as a commoditised center, where everything can be bought and sold, whatever the nature of the goods. The socio-economic characteristic of neoliberal globalisation showcases the negation of the social aspects of management, the objection to state intervention and abandoning the policy of sustainable development. The negative effect of these trends can lead to undermining the trust of citizens to the state, swaying increasingly between labile financial capitaland supranational institutions, as well as the contestation of states’ legal systems due to the lack of economic security. In the light of the failure of neoliberal prescriptions for improvement, such as the flexicurity policy, it seems necessary to take more account of the demands raised by social movements and thereby mitigate the asymmetric nature of globalization.
