Abstract Narratives concerning technology and values relations requires an in-depth analysis of these two categories and also their contextualization. In social practice technology and values undergo significant changes, often revolutionary. They take systemic forms and they interact with each other. Since the Industrial Revolution it seems that technological systems dominate over social and axiological systems. The present information revolution reinforces this process. However this revolution not only has positive effects, but also generates risks and negative impacts. Challenging the consequences of the industrialization, urbanization, informalization and denaturalization of man and the environment leads to theoretical inquiries and new social practices connected with the idea of sustainable development.
