Abstract This paper presents the development of philosophy of technology by M. Heidegger. At the beginning I present the concept of technology,from the perspective of the existential, concluded in his book Being and Time. Then I discuss the concept of the essence of technology, developed after 1945 by M. Heidegger. The last part of the article presents a concept of metapolitics based on secret notes Heidegger actually published under the name The Black Notebooks. A comprehensive analysis of the philosophy of technology by M. Heidegger reveals new features of technology. At the same time it shows the dangers of expanding the analysis in to other areas, especially politics.
