Abstract This article contains some thoughts on issues located in the philosophy of economics. One issue is the dilemma of whether to distract the economy in the sense of logistics and of multiplication of many small organizations, or to focus it in large organizations - productive, commercial and service complexes - concentrated in small areas. The second concerns the move away from the rational economy formerly identified with frugality and reasonability of producers, servicers and consumers to the irrational economy reigned by wastefulness and a lack of common sense. Economic irrationalism has become a real driving force of prosperity. The third is related to the needs of a redefinition of the notion of work, which is a fundamental category of economics. Understanding capital and national income depends on understanding work. The concept of work changes with the level of technology. The present functioning concept of work is still formed at the stage of handicraft and earlier industrial production. So, it does not correspond to modern technology, that is more and more supported by computers and robots.
