Abstract In this article the issue of perception and understanding of post-modernity has been considered. An attempt has also been undertaken to answer the questions: does postmodernity bring something new, and if not, does it change anything? Doesn’t it introduce confusion and chaos into the existing structures and socio-cultural models? And does the reality, known as post-modernity consist of one culture or rather the multiplicity of cultures? The question of transformations taking place in the area of culture is also considered, especially the transformation in the way of thinking, particularly on the basis of philosophy. The problem of changes or transformation in the way of perception of the whole has also been considered, especially the one relevant to culture. The article refers to the thoughts and assumptions, among others, of: W. Welsch, G. Deleuze and F. Guattari, T. Adorno, J. Habermas, O. Marquard, J.-F. Lyotard and L. Kołakowski.
