Abstract From the beginning of cultural history the collecting, recording and processing of data have been the basis for obtaining information for decision making. Creating and improving tools for measuring have an impact on the development of empirical research, both quantitative as well as qualitative. Information reduces uncertainty, on the one hand, while an excessive amount of information, on the other, often hampers rational judgment of a situation. In the era of global information networks, information becames the new economic currency . The problem nowadays is not the difficulty or the cost of obtaining the information, it is the cost of converting the information into valuable knowledge.
