Abstract Innovation is a special tool for entrepreneurs, which helps to creates new opportunities for beginning a new enterprise or providing a new service. In Polish companies there are many possibilities of the introduction of innovation, based on the innovative industry operational programme (Program Operacyjny Innowacyjna Gospodarka) supported by the European Union. The constant drive towards the growth of innovation activities sets one of the crucial economic tasks stated in programmes of industrial growth as well as studies and research related to company management. It is extemely important for entrepreneurs to exploit every possible chance. Until now the research and development was concentrated more on the search for innovation factors than the influence of implemented innovation on prospective development and the changes in the learning process of the company, observation of the spiral of wisdom, competency and efficiency of the technical staff. The implementation of the innovation in manufacturing companies leads to the growth of competition. The main reason for the necessity of innovation implementation is the relatively low competetiveness of Polish companies. This results in no prospectives for the future and leads to unknown social effects.
