Abstract The article aims to analyze a book entitled Italian childhood (in original language: Un’infanza italiana). Its author – Roberto Salvadori is a respected Italian publicist, essayist and publisher. He is married to Polish essayist and publisher – Barbara Toruńczyk and has lived in Poland for many years. In the book Salvadori tells of his childhood, spent in Florence, which is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and is also one of the most beautiful, fascinating and best known cities in the world. The author of this article shows the manner of describing childhood, which is typical for Salvadori. She also considers the structure of his story. The analysis has a transdisciplinary character, meaning that the author of this article incorporates ideas and conceptions belonging to the different fields of scientific discourse, such as: culture anthropology, psychology and the theory of literature.
