Abstract The paper contains the characteristic of the Digital Society through the interdisciplinary perspective of social sciences. The term is being used to describe the emergence of a digital social order and its influence on the social sciences in the XXI century. The main thesis is based on a statement that the digital technology transforms the sociological language into a set of liquid metaphors based on science-fiction literature then as a rational, well known scientific semantic. Science fiction is largely based on writing rationally about alternative possibilities of life and the development directions. Contemporary sociological papers also rely on a considerable degree of prediction about the future implications of temporary technological application. The author tries to explain sociology’s place in a transforming society and the new challenges of describing science fiction visions through a sociological perspective.
