Abstract While recalling that freedom as one of the most important philosophical problems is linked to all the spheres and dimensions of human life and to attempts to reconcile the individual independence and social rights, I account for the deepening of the difficulties of its determination within contemporary net culture. Info-freedom is what interested me the most, as freedom based on an easy, thanks to the shallow technology, access to information, which continues the traditional myths of every human freedom protection and reduction of power in public space. Recalling the cyber-libertarians’ position, which declare an absolute independence of cyberspace and cyber paternalists, and tend to make it legally regulated, as well as – after J. Attali - megatrends indicating the direction of the development of human civilization, I prove here that while each freedom is harmed, info-freedom gets other than in the past parts of body removed, and the case of the social control is one of the fundamental political issues in the information society.
