Abstract The article discusses the crisis of modernising practices’ arising at the foundations of the political order. Changes in world development unveil nuance and ambivalence of contemporary state politics. The widespread application of global context in political research enabled not only the emergence of new research fields but also revealed fresh ways of interpreting classical concepts of politics. The complexity of analyzed issues reveals that global world is a complex system, a kind of dynamic network, in which it is difficult to draw clear boundaries and where relations and dependencies are nonlinear. That is why the question of the state’s capacity for action in such environment becomes the question about the future of market economy and the state itself. It also becomes the question about political freedom and the future of social contact, according to which there is a direct relation between social and financial security and political freedom.
