Abstract Access and efficient use of ITI techniques, especially the Internet, are fundamental for development not only in economic sense but also civilization sense in modern society. Meanwhile, there is no general knowledge about the number of people who have access to the computer and the internet and how to use these media. In addition, there is no public knowledge of the resources facilitating or hindering the use of these media by average Poles, while functioning stereotypes are based more on prejudice (eg ageism) than on real facts. For a pedagogue this is an unacceptable situation that requires not only a diagnosis, but an urgent intervention as to what is being discussed
