Abstract The aim of the article is an attempt to look at the extent to which the changes taking place in Poland in 1989, in the political, social and economic spheres, were included in the text of the written constitution. In Poland, two constitutional amendments were adopted in 1989. The first, in April 1989. The second, in December 1989, which, however, set a completely different direction of changes than that indicated during the Round Table talks. In the author's opinion, after the 1989 elections, the legislator modified the previously developed round-table concepts, but he interpreted the political and social will of the nation. However, it was different in the case of the economic dimension. Although the introduced changes led to social discontent, the constitutional provisions, understood as a kind of vehicle for changes, set the general direction of the economic development of the state, and at the same time caused further economic changes, thus creating a new, free-market reality.
