Abstract The aim of the content of this article is to present the assessments, opinions and knowledge that the younger generation and especially students have about savoir vivre. It was obtained by carrying out the author’s research among Generation Z in order to fill, to some extent, the gap in the literature on good practice in the field in question. It was particularly interesting to clarify the extent to which today’s young people know and apply the principles of etiquette. The research was conducted among pedagogy students of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) on savoir vivre and the practical application of etiquette. The aim of the research was to identify previous academic and research output, including the sources of students’ knowledge of etiquette as well as to assess the level of the students’ knowledge of the basic principles of savoir vivre, and the relevance of the length of study in increasing their knowledge of savoir vivre. The study was conducted by means of a diagnostic survey method using a survey technique and a survey questionnaire research tool.
