Abstract The aim of the paper is to acquaint the reader with a factor that can significantly influence the educational work of prison staff. The question is how to deal with such a situation if a special educator or instructor encounters it in practice. The author underlines that even a seemingly obscure topic can impact the education and training provided by the Prison Service. The aim of the research is to show how relationships between women behind bars influence the process of prisonization and the related educational effect on convicts. Establishing relationships in prisons can work as a counter-educational factor.
