LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN THE PROGRAMMES OF POLISH POLITICAL PARTIES (FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS)

Abstract The aim of this article is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the presence of local government in the programmes of Polish political parties between 2007 and 2019. The study uses Social Network Analysis (SNA) and Discourse Network Analysis (DNA) tools in relation to data coded as part of the Manifesto Project. The analysis made it possible to identify the most frequently repeated postulates, assess the coherence of political circles, and identify potential programme coalitions. The extended discussion section includes comparisons between groups, references to decentralisation theory, and reflections on the limitations of programme research. The results point, among other things, to the important role of decentralisation and welfare state demands, as well as to the varying degrees of internal cohesion within individual groups.
