Abstract This article is a theoretical and empirical analysis. The main focus of the article is to present employment dualisms and the financial deficits experienced by some workers in the context of the initial period of the pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic crisis deepened employment dualism and also contributed to the financial deficits of some authors of pandemic diaries. Remote work became a new dividing line among workers. In the analysis of the empirical material, the autobiographical method based on journals was applied. The analysis draws on pandemic journals submitted to the Nationwide Competition of the Institute of Literature in Kraków.
