Abstract This article presents the history of the Polish language of science, including its graph ic and symbolic, morphological, lexical, syntactic and textual components. Attention is paid to the general characteristics of the language of science: abstractness, accuracy, objectivity, internationality. The areas of study of the Polish language of science are discussed. The author presents in greater detail the shifts in the Polish language of science caused by the cultural-historical-ideological influence, which affect the changes in perception of the language of science as well as the cognition itself. The presence of the English language in the Polish science is also addressed.
